Rachel Stark-Capelli travels to Italy to procure new collection

As Obscene Jeans Corp. prepares for the company's runway debut at WWDMAGIC in Las Vegas, lead designer Rachel Stark-Cappelli is already turning her eye toward the future. Stark-Cappelli will spend this week in Italy procuring exciting new fabrics for Obscene Jeans' forthcoming Fall 2012 Collection.
“I'm tremendously excited to reveal our fabulous debut denim line to the world at WWDMAGIC, but that will be only the first collection of many more to come,” Stark-Cappelli said. “Work has already begun on ideas for next year's Fall Collection, and premium Italian denim will be featured prominently in our new designs.”
Along with Turkey and Japan, Italy is one of the world's foremost suppliers of high-fashion denim fabrics.
“We will be considering the new fabric lines from some of the top Italian suppliers along with viewing the new Fashion fabric line from Isko, a top fashion denim manufacturer from Turkey,” Stark-Cappelli said. “Fashion fabric, such as the Power Stretch Black Vintage denim used in our upcoming collection, has become one of Obscene Jeans' signature details, along with our unique metal embellishments.”
OBJE President and CEO Robert Federowicz said Monday that in order to achieve the company's goal of becoming a global luxury lifestyle brand, the search for eye-popping new fabrics for next year's collections would take on an international flavor.
“We envision Obscene Jeans as outrageously glamorous fashions made exclusively for the sexiest women in the world,” Federowicz said. “To achieve the look we want, it's important to search the globe in pursuit of the most imaginative and luxurious denim fabrics available. I'm very interested to see the premium textiles that Rachel will be bringing back from Milan.”
