Flare, explosive colors, and fanatical patterns are signatures that embody Kachi Designs and will seize the runway Thursday, July 19th at Africa Fashion Week (New York) (AFWNY). AFWNY, produced by Adirée is set to take place on July 14th, 15th and 16th at the Broad Street Ballroom in New York City's financial district.
Chigozie “Chichi” Anaele of Kachi Designs utilizes a large array of colors and patterns that emphasizes the dynamic beauty of women. This ready to wear, Anakara based collection line, was created for fashion culturally and creatively moved women and men.
Her collections also features clutches and bags.
AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designer Korto Momolu and designers like Washington Roberts, Saint Wobil, AAMAA Couture, Bill Witherspoon and others will showcase.
Anaele was raised in Houston but of a Nigerian heritage. She uses her African influence and her love of the hit show, Soul Train, to create a line for women who want to bring definition to their wardrobe. Anaele gave up a career in chemical engineering to start her label with no professional knowledge of the industries.
