Mpakula's Endexus Creations to hit NYC's financial district

Edina Ndebele Mpakula will showcase her newest collection of Endexus Creations at Africa Fashion Week New York produced by Adirée on Friday July 15th. AFWNY will take place July 14th, 15th, and 16th in the Broad Street Ballroom in NYC's financial district.

Zimbabwean designer Edina Ndebele Mpakula creates designs inspired by her culture. This collection is “Proudly African, Proudly Zimbabwean”, exhibiting colorful patterns and fabrics. Mpakula's main goal is to promote ethnic African heritage and fuse it with modern fashion. Endexus Creations includes women's evening ready-to-wear, casual wear, and accessories.

AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designer Korto Momolu and designers like Washington Roberts, Saint Wobil, AAMAA Couture, Bill Witherspoon and others will showcase. Sponsors include PopDrum, Mo-Saique, AveYou, Makari de Suisse and Avaloni Studios.

Edina Ndebele Mpakula was born in Zimbabwe, and has been in the states since February 2010. She is currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mpakula has been in the designing industry for 6 years and has a diploma in clothing technology, which she acquired in Zimbabwe. Not only is Mpakula a designer, she is also an actress known as Ayanda in Zimbabwe.
