Taiwan, one of the world's leading textile exporters, is looking forward to enhance its business association with textile firms in India.

In view of the same, 13 leading textile firms from Taiwan exhibited their most modern textile products at a two-day Taiwan Textile Fair organized in Mumbai by the Taiwan Textile Federation in association with the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Taiwan and supported by major textile associations of India like the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) and Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

Jennifer Liu, Project Manager, Taiwan Textile Federation, said the fair was intended to help the Taiwanese entrepreneurs to tap the real time opportunities in the Indian apparel sector as they explore new business opportunities for the textile and garment industry.

While the Indian apparel market is growing at an annual rate of 10 percent, rural and semi-urban markets of the country are advancing at a faster pace than anticipated. Also, an increasing number of urban customers are looking for branded and lifestyle goods. So, the market is sure to advance at a higher pace than ever before.

Such growth, Liu said, requires an impetus that can only be supplied by products that are ahead of their time and this is exactly what Taiwan offered to India through the fair.
