Proposals need to be submitted according to the instructions issued, together with the application form. Artists from the host country, in this case Costa Rica, may apply with 2 or 3 – dimensional pieces not exceeding 16 x 24 x 16 inches ( 40 x 60 x 40 cms.).
Dateline for the receipt of applications in Miami will be April 28th / 2006 and the application fee shall be U$S 25,00 Differences for Costa Rican artists are due to functional reasons because their art pieces should not go through customs regulations.
The IV Biennale WTA will be opened on September 12th and the closing date will be on October 11th. All chosen textile pieces shall be sent over by the artists on their own account and at their own cost directly to Miami to the Organization of “Women in Textile Art” (from now on WTA Organization) before July 28th.
The Organization will notify all those who have been chosen to participate in the Exhibition by June 9th at the latest and each participation will bear a cost of US $75.
Costa Rican artists fee will be of $50.00 and they must deliver and remove their artwork directly to the Cultural Center.
All the works that have not been donated to the Organization WTA will have to be returned to their country of origin at their owner´s own cost. The Organization will have three months to deliver back each artists work as well as the catalogue.
The Organization will have the right to nominate seven guest artists throughout the World. All artists as well as the participating guests artists shall have the right to be awarded with any of the three prizes which will be granted during the Biennale.
