Uttar Pradesh Handicrafts and Handloom Artisans Association have set up an exhibition of handicrafts. Mayor Sarubala R Thondaiman inaugurated the expo.
Promotion of handloom and handicraft along with employment opportunities for artisans is the intention of the exposition.
Jaipuri bangles, pattollo silk sarees, Sahranpur teak and seasame wooden household articles, bandini sarees, brass and iron art work items, silk paintings, shawls, Kalamkari wall paintings, Kalahasti and cotton printed and hand embroidery sarees, and cushion covers are displayed.
Besides these, artistically designed jute furniture, puppets, chain print bed covers, handicrafts of Lacquer ware bangles, wall hangings, file folders, white metal articles, eco-friendly jute bags and copper belts are also visible.
The Association has a chain of emporia in many cities of the country, there by, it creates market support for craftsmen under the banner 'Kalanjali.'
