Hong Kong Fashion Week 2012 Fall/Winter has shifted its focus to design from the earlier emphasis on quality manufacturing. This is in tune with the Hong Kong government's policy to promote “creative industries.”

Around 1,900 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions are displaying the latest fashion in apparels and accessories at this year's Fashion Week, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

“World Boutique” remains the key design-focused event at the 10th edition of the Hong Kong Fashion Week, which concludes on January 19, 2012.

During the week, latest collections of four globally renowned fashion designers – Shanghai's Qi Gang, London's Craig Lawrence, Hong Kong's Hidy Ng and Paris's Risto Bimbiloski – were launched.

The fashion event introduced few upcoming designers from Hong Kong to international buyers, including Bendy Woo, Hin Lee and Cecilia Yau.

The Fashion Week also included the “Hong Kong Fashion Designers Contest” which attracted young local talents.
