Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association reported that the next decade for Brazilian fashion history starts in January 2006.

The São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) Official Calendar for Brazilian Fashion is the most responsible event for consolidating this sector over recent years and it reaches its 20th edition stimulating the market towards the future.

This season's SPFW means the beginning of a new cycle for Brazilian fashion. The first ten years, celebrated last edition, revealed SPFW's fundamental role in consolidating Brazilian fashion, transforming the sector into a potential business market and projecting the country around the world, not to mention the mobilization that built a fashion culture among the large masses.

Now the Calendar reinforces its identity and encourages a look towards the future of the second decade, which begins now.

At this 2006 Winter São Paulo Fashion Week, we are all invited to reflect and discuss the trajectory of national fashion over the next 10 years. We are asked to reassume the history we participated in, accept greater challenges, intensify the necessary transformations and plan the new actions for the ostensive reality the Brazilian fashion market has become.

At this edition, the content and occupation of space at the Bienal Pavilion playfully illustrate the reflections proposed by the SPFW. Transform one, change one's look, recycle knowledge and take advantage of learning.
