Hamilton Pastoral and Agricultural Society’s largest farming show features everything from exhibits on the history of the animal in Australia, to live exhibitions of up to 1,000 sheep.

In addition to traditional farming attractions such as the Ram Sale and the Sheep Show, Sheepvention also features an Inventions Competition and a Farm Dog competition.

Foodies and connoisseurs will appreciate the Taste of the Great Southwest marquee, which features a selection of local gourmet food and wine producers; wine appreciation and food matching seminars; and cooking demonstrations with celebrity chef Ricardo Momesso.

There is even something for the fashionistas, with wool fashion design celebrated in the Discover Wool show that sees woollen garments showcased in two fashion parades.

Emerging Australian designers will also be recognised at the presentation of the Australasian Young Designer Wool Award during the Sheepvention Gala Fashion Parade on Sunday August 5th.
