India’s Ministry of Textiles, along with the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), is organizing a two-day buyers-sellers meet in Israeli capital Tel Aviv from September 5.

The event titled ‘India Apparel Show’ is aimed at promoting India’s textile and apparel exports to Israel and the Middle East.

It is for the first time that such a Buyer Seller Meet is being organized in Israel to capture not only the Israel apparel market but also the US$ 11 billion apparel market of Middle East region.

Several buyers like Crazyine Ltd, Renaur, Castro Models, Golf, etc. are expected to attend the event.

According to UN Comtrade data, Israel imported garments worth US$ 1.27 billion in 2011. However, with exports worth US$ 34.4 million, India accounted for only 2.7 percent share in Israel’s overall apparel imports during the year.

Last year, India’s apparel exports to Israel rose by 50.1 percent year-on-year.
