Street and jeanswear exhibition Bread & butter GmbH informed that BBBarcelona had received outstanding visitor numbers of 45,000 in July 2005, but this season it has seen a significant increase in visitor numbers.
All in all 48,800 international professionals visited BBBarcelona from January 18th – 20th, 2006.
1,100 visitors came from North America, 995 from Scandinavia, 726 from Turkey and 700 from Greece. From the Far and Middle East 1,036 professional visitors were counted, from Eastern Europe 400 and 302 visitors from South and Central America.
Japan was well represented by 320 visitors and Australia by 102.
Professionals from 87 nations came to catch up on the upcoming trends that were presented by a total of 780 brands, labels and designers at BBBarcelona. These figures underline the tradeshow's high degree in internationality.
BBB boss, Karl-Heinz Müller, said, “The great success of BBBarcelona's second edition affirms our strategy. This tradeshow has imposingly shown that it was the right decision to establish Barcelona as a platform for the Southern regions. This is why we have extended our commitments in Barcelona for an unlimited period.”
“Berlin as well as Barcelona is the ideal locations for Bread & butter and therefore these both cities are the firm addresses for the “tradeshows for selected brands” in Europe,“ he added.
Compared to July2005, the numbers in visitors from the South could be increased. The decrease in visitors from Germany and Northern Europe leads one to assume that retailers and buyers from these regions will again visit BBBerlin.
