Manish Arora, the Delhi-based fashion designer who is known for his liberal use of psychedelic colours and kitsch motifs in garments, displayed an India-inspired collection on the third day of the ongoing sartorial extravaganza Paris Fashion Week.

The Mumbai-born designer’s spicy and bohemian showcase was full of revamped traditional Indian outfits.

The ensembles portrayed a dominance of Rajasthan’s geometric prints featuring stylised tigers, panthers and antelopes.

The collection includes printed kurtas, leggings, collarless tunics, angrakhas and shiny chainmail pants in pastel yellow, turquoise and plum tones.

Manish Arora, the Indian sub-continent’s most internationally famous designer, was appointed as creative director of the womenswear collection of the French fashion house ‘Paco Rabanne’ in 2011.

Founded in 1966, Paco Rabbane is well-known for its flamboyant costume designs in movies.
