The much-awaited semi-annual fashion event ‘World MasterCard Fashion Week,’ unofficially known as Toronto Fashion Week, will begin from October 22, 2012.

The five-day-long event will feature a range of Spring/Summer 2013 collections by various emerging and established Canadian fashion designers.

The Toronto style showcase will be officially opened by the 175-year-old luxury apparel retailer Holt Renfrew, Toronto-based sophisticated clothing brand Pink Tartan and Canadian fashion house Pavoni.

Canada’s popular sportswear label Bustle Clothing by designer duo Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow, and ready-to-wear clothing brand VAWK by Sunny Fong will make a comeback to the runway with this event.

Apart from the dazzling and glamorous feast of exotic apparel collections, the event will also host the Mercedes-Benz Start Up contest, which aims to discover and support the country’s emerging designers who have been in the fashion industry for less than five years.

The event will be organized by IMG Canada’s IMG Fashion, the worldwide leader in fashion event production and management.
