Hedi Slimane, the newly appointed creative director of the renowned French label Saint Laurent Paris (formerly Yves Saint Laurent or YSL), presented his debut YSL runway show at the ongoing fashion event Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013.

The 44-year-old designer showcased a collection inspired by the movies of the 1970s, mixed with a slight hint of rich-hippie culture.

The skinny-tailored apparel line includes Tuxedo jackets, slim leather jeans, billowy sleeved maxi-dresses, sequined evening wear, gold chain fringed skirts and suede outfits with front lacing.

The collection also features a variety of witchy woman capes trimmed in feathers, lace and sequins.

Born to an Italian mother and a Tunisian father, Hedi Slimane earlier held the position of creative director for the menswear line of Christian Dior, Dior Homme.
