The 27th edition of the semi-annual Canadian fashion revelry ‘World MasterCard Fashion Week,’ unofficially known as Toronto Fashion Week, opened with a dazzling showcase of chic international looks by the 175-year-old luxury apparel retailer Holt Renfrew.

The Canadian retailer featured nearly 70 separate ensembles created by a number of home grown and international fashion designers.

The collection includes an azure blue draped sleeved satin dress from Yves Saint Laurent, a colour-blocked coat from Celine, well-patterned Prada suit and a sleek tuxedo from Tom Ford.

The line also showcased a satin-lapelled black blazer from Toronto-based label Smythe and a fur-trimmed hooded parka and puffer coat from Canada Goose.

Toronto-based sophisticated clothing brand Pink Tartan presented retro style ultra-feminine looks in pastel shades designed by Kimberley Newport-Mimran.

The collection includes high-waisted shorts, slender capris, skinny brocade pants, bustier crop tops, full mid-length skirts and bell-sleeved coats.

The Canadian fashion house Pavoni closed the show with a magnificent series of majestic gowns. The collection includes mermaid-style glamour gowns in lace, silk chiffon, taffeta and organza, painstakingly embellished with sequins, beading and crystals.
