For the first time in Shanghai, 2 Première Vision events took place at the same time - 23 to 24 October 2012 - and the same place: Première Vision China and the new Denim by Première Vision Asia.

2 targeted events, dedicated to fashion professionals, each with a particularly premium offer to satisfy market expectations. The two shows brought a busy crowd to the banks of the Huangpu River at the East Dock, a former cotton mill dating from 1929.

Together, they welcomed 3,654 visitors. A strong signal of a winning combination!

For its very first edition held 23 - 24 October, Denim by Première Vision Asia attracted 2,804 visitors in two days and presented a complete and creative offer for the jeans industry. The world’s leading denim players brought their latest collections to East Dock in Shanghai, a good opportunity for them to expand and develop their business in Asia.

From weavers to garment makers and finishers, accessory makers, laundries, technology and fibre producers, some 42 exhibitors coming from 12 countries put on a dazzling show of creativity.

Each sector counted within its ranks most of the field’s major players, such as Absolute Denim, Artistic Fabrics Mills, Artistic Milliners, Arvind, Bossa, Candiani, Freedom Denim, Golden Win, Isko, ITVomano, JWS, Kaihara, Montebello, Orta, Realkom, Sartex and Tejidos Royo.

“The show was successful and it’s impressive for most of the exhibitors and visitors, I trust the next event will be a big event as well” commented Milanni Cheng from JWS (HK). Jack Duan from Advance Denim (CN) expressed a similar sentiment, saying “This is a wonderful start for Première Vision and our mill”.

In addition to connecting with suppliers, visitors could find inspiration for their collections by viewing the fashion areas. Organised into different themes, the latest trend directions and developments for denim were showcased by Umberto Brochetto and Massimo Munari from Creative Room, well-known Italian jean experts who also unveiled an exclusive denim collection specially developed for the Asian show.

With an informative, fashion-oriented approach, Denim by Première Vision Asia succeeded in showcasing the entire breadth of the sector, in all its creative and technical complexity.

It was an exciting first show for the Denim by Première Vision team, who chose to export its unique concept overseas. It is clear now that this Asian edition strengthens the bonds that link denim professionals from one continent to another. Because the denim community is everywhere!
