Bangladesh’s biggest ever apparel fair Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (Batexpo-2012) featuring a wide array of readymade garments, textiles and other accessories under one roof began today in the country’s capital city of Dhaka.

The three-day-long expo, which will close on 14th December 2012, would not only act as a networking base for apparel manufacturers, exporters and buyers from around the world but would also provide opportunities to look for prospective markets in addition to the already existing ones.

In addition to an extensive display of locally manufactured knitwear, woven garments and sweaters, a variety of foreign fabrics and accessories are also being showcased at the event.

Along with textile manufacturers and buyers, several other related technology providing businesses, industrial leaders, financial institutions and freight forwarders are also participating in the event.

Three educative seminars on ‘Opportunities and Challenges in the Changed Global Sourcing Scenario’, ‘Protection against prosperity Insurance’, and ‘Environment friendly and Resource Efficient Production’ will be conducted on the sidelines of the expo.

The current 23rd edition of the Batexpo-2012 is being organized by the country’s leading trade association – the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
