Nepali designer's gown on display at Fashion Museum, Bath

An iconic wedding gown, made by London-based bridal wear designer of Nepali origin Sanyukta Shrestha, has created history by finding a place at the sophisticated Fashion Museum – Bath in Somerset, England.
 
Made of 30-year-old newspapers, the organic haute couture wedding gown titled ‘Pippa’ has made it to the selective set of exhibited collections displayed at the prestigious museum.
 
Shrestha, who excels in handmade luxury wedding collections made mainly of sustainable eco-friendly fabrics, kick started her career as an official designer for Miss Nepal contest in the year 1998. Her creations are being sold in well-known bridal boutiques in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
 
She has won accolades like Best Wedding Newcomer in The Perfect Wedding Award 2011, Bridal Innovation Award in JP Selects Excellence Award 2011 and Brand Leader title at the Source Award 2012.
 
Established in 1963, Fashion Museum – Bath houses more than 80,000 apparels and accessories belonging to different periods, ranging from the late Elizabethan and early Jacobean eras to the present day creations designed by world’s avant-garde designers like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
