Tunisia, the smallest country of North Africa, is soon going to organize its first-ever ‘Fashion Festival, Tunis 2013’ event, aimed at showcasing a variety of apparel lines created by the young and seasoned national as well as international designers.

Scheduled to run from 4th April 2013, the two-day event will unveil a series of haute couture collections based on the theme of ‘Mediterranean Fashion’.

Other than runway presentations, the event will also include roundtable discussions on topics ranging from innovation, creativity, communication to promotion of emerging talents.

Organized by the National Trade Chamber of Manufacturers of Lingerie and the National Textile Federation, the fashion fest is expected to revive the country’s textile and clothing sector, which currently is the fifth major supplier to the European continent, by improving its position internationally.

Additionally, the Tunisian fashion industry aims to establish multicultural exchanges with the influential fashion houses of the Middle East and Maghreb through the high-profile event.
