Andrea Pompilio, the Italy born menswear designer, has finally forayed into the world of women’s fashion by launching a limited collection at the recently concluded, world famous, men’s apparel and accessory show Pitti Immagine Uomo 83, held in Florence, Italy.

Presented along with his latest menswear creations, the designer’s sportswear-inspired womenswear line was a combination of plaid track pants, fur-lapelled overcoats and sweat shirts in a variety of innovative prints and colours.

The 39-year-old designer’s men’s collection, showcased at the same event, included sporty blend of formal and outerwear in light and dark colours accentuated with horizontal stripes as well as polka dots. The ensembles were teamed up with fluorescent rhinestones encrusted equestrian-helmet-esque hats.

Known for his sophisticated and nonchalant designs, Andrea Pompilio has earlier worked with internationally known brands like Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Prada, Calvin Klein, YSL and Bally before starting his own label.

The 83rd edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo featured a range of beachwear, active wear, sportswear and other clothing accessories for men by various manufacturers from countries like Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Canada, France, Germany and Hong Kong.
