As soon as the Parisian fashion house Yves Saint Laurent wrapped up the five-day-long international men’s fashion fest Paris Menswear Fashion Week, another high-profile event Paris Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013 kicked off in the same freezing snow-covered French capital with a smouldering catwalk presentation by the Italian label Versace’s sub-label Atelier Versace.

The label’s artistic director Donatella Versace showcased an architecture-inspired couture collection, which included neon dresses, snakeskin outfits and striking cutout numbers seasoned with 24-carat gold pinstripes and lavish crystal embroidery.

The line also featured embroidered bustiers, chiffon mini dresses in fluorescent yellow, white mink coats and black column evening gowns with geometric patterns.

The Paris Haute Couture fashion week, which will run till January 24, 2013, would feature a variety of haute couture creations from well-known names like Christian Dior, Armani, Ellie Saab, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel and Maison Martin Margiela.
