Atelier Designers announced that its 'Fall 2006 Collection' show will take place at the Rihga Royal Hotel, 151 West 54th Street (6th/7th Avenues) in midtown Manhattan, February 12th and 13th from 9:00 to 6:00, February 14th from 9:00 to 5:00.
Spice market hues and tones of nature as fall turns to winter. Textures of bark, stone and berries feed the creative imagination of Atelier Designers.
The mood, while remaining contemporary and architectural, softens to include casual luxe, romantic comfort, and relaxed sophistication, in collections of daywear, accessories, and social occasion dressing.
Key colors are derived from changes in nature's palette as summer turns to fall, and fall to winter, combined with spice tones – ebony, raven, bitter chocolate & truffle; juniper, teagreen & moss; persimmon & oxblood; blackberry & plum; garnet, burgundy, madder & cinnabar; and touches of turmeric, curry & ginger.
This season is inspired by the textures of ethnic artifacts seen in world travels and the visual riches of walks in forests and on beaches, combined with a nod to historical reference in fashion and a desire to connect with our roots through storytelling.
The deep desire for authentic comfort and style, the longing to feel the textures of materials made by hand, and the drive to move through the world more simply and richly, meet in the spirit of wabi-sabi.
Atelier presents 77 designers from the US, Japan, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and Israel showing collections for Fall 2006.
