The much-talked about costumes featured in the Russian novel-based English film ‘Anna Karenina’ is now on display at London’s sumptuous treasure trove of 17th century fashion creations Ham House.

Designed by British designer Jacqueline Durran, the displayed sartorial exhibits have been nominated in this year’s Best Costume Design category at Oscars as well as BAFTA awards.

A perfect balance of 1870s extravagant silhouettes infused with 1950s classy looks, the exhibited costumes include the bluish-grey military uniform worn by Count Vronsky (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Keira Knightley’s iconic rich black satin ball-gown as well as lavish vintage dresses in grey and green tones.

The Anna Karenina costume exhibition will run till April 4, 2013.

The period drama is a film adaption of Leo Tolstoy’s 19th century literary masterpiece Anna Karenina. The novel narrates the ill-fated story of a married Russian aristocratic woman and her passionately turbulent relationship with an unmarried affluent count.

The costume designer Jacqueline Durran has earlier won the prestigious BAFTA award for her work in Vera Drake (2004) and has also received an Oscar nomination for her designs in the film Pride & Prejudice (2005).
