Anya Ayoung-Chee, the former Miss Trinidad and Tobago, has showcased her collection for the very first time in her home country’s capital Port-of-Spain after winning the ninth season of US-based reality TV series Project Runway.

The 31-year-old designer featured a brightly coloured Caribbean-inspired resort wear line titled ‘Carnival of Colour’ at a heavy duty music-cum-catwalk event ‘Fashion Rocks the Avenue’.

Entirely manufactured in the twin island country, the colourful collection is a combination of silk, woven and knit fabrics with dollops of carnival essence thrown in.

Carnival of Colour has earlier been showcased at various fashion events in London, New York and Johannesburg.

Other than her avant-garde resort wear range, the designer also featured some selective pieces from her TRIBE Carnival's 2013 presentation ‘Butterflies, Beasts and Bacchanal’ at the event.
