The forthcoming edition of Canadian semi-annual fashion revelry Montreal Fashion Week (MFW) is eyeing the international markets to boost the visibility of its designers on a wider scale.

Expecting nearly 25 buyers from different markets, the event will be covered by the Russian and German fashion media.

Slated to begin from February 4, 2013, the event is collaborating with Russia Fashion Week, which will air MFW shows on their event website.

Other than the Russian collaboration, the fashion week is also partnering with the US discount retailer Target, who is sponsoring the event’s inaugural Target Emerging Designer Award which will give the winner an exclusive opportunity to design a collection for the retail chain’s Quebec stores.

Organized by Groupe Sensation Mode, the upcoming event will  showcase latest Fall/Winter 2013 collections from Mélissa Nepton, Harricana, Ralph Leroy, L'autre couture de Luko Marion, Nisse, Pedram Karimi, Matière noire, COKLUCH, Symbiose by Hinda A., Maryline Baril, Jennifer Glasgow Design and Voyou.

In addition to a series of spectacular runway presentations, MFW will include exhibitions, conferences, artistic performances and fashion films during the four-day-long event.
