Catalan designer Miriam Ponsa has won the coveted La Roca Village 080 Barcelona Fashion award for showcasing the most creative and commercially viable autumn/winter 2013-2014 collection at the recently concluded Spanish fashion extravaganza 080 Barcelona Fashion.

The designer received €20,000 in prize money for featuring a cosy woollen line titled 'Transhumance'.

Inspired by the nomadic culture of shepherds’ lives, the collection included a range of sweaters and jackets attached with twisted wicker baskets in black, white and similar earthy tones.

Other than Ponsa, popular clothing labels like Simorra and Scorpion also presented their collection at the eleventh edition of the semi-annual Catalonian fashion event.

Along with an array of exquisite hand woven chiffon ensembles, the international fashion brand Simorra featured astrakhan, leather and cloth coats at the three-day-long event.

Barcelona-based firm Scorpion presented an urban women’s wear collection titled ‘Antagonism’. The label showcased skinny jeans and several knee-length dresses in an earthy palette of brown, red and eggplant.
