The recently concluded edition of Indonesia Fashion Week once again highlighted the huge potential and limitless cultural resources of the country’s local fashion industry.

Participated by more than 500 brands and 208 designers from all over the world, the four-day-long event featured fashion and trade exhibitions, designing competitions, workshops and seminars.

Several Indonesian designers like Putu Aliki, Thomas Sigar and Anne Avantie featured a range of modern wear, made of intricate traditional fabrics adorned with the nation’s trademark batik and tie-and-dye prints.

Other than the native designers, the Jakarta-held event also witnessed collections from various international names, such as Addy van Der Krommenacker from the Netherlands, Brazil’s Samuel Cirnansk, Melinda Looi of Malaysia and Camilla Wellton from Sweden.

Endorsed by the Washington-based Fashion Week Organization, Indonesia Fashion Week was debuted last year with an attendance of nearly 200 designers and 400 brands.
