To establish Johannesburg as a world-class fashion and shopping destination, African Fashion International (AFI), in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, is set to organize a three-day fashion event starting from March 7, 2013, at the city’s posh suburban location Newtown.

Titled as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg (MBFWJ), the soiree will feature latest Autumn/Winter collections from Africa’s most well-known and up and coming designers like David Tlale, Thula Sindi, Suzaan Heyns and Fabiani.

Started around five years ago, the African Fashion International is the premier fashion events and promotions company in Africa, which helps bringing in designers from the entire continent to the forefront.

Through its numerous Fashion Weeks and initiatives, AFI opens up the continent to commercial projects, both locally and internationally, increasing the geographic reach of Africa’s fashion and the market access to the continent’s apparel.
