Fans of the late Princess of Wales Diana will now have a chance to own some of the iconic pieces from the fashionable royal’s wardrobe as an auction featuring ten of her most famous dresses is going to take place at London’s Kerry Taylor Auctions.

Designed by the likes of Zandra Rhodes, Catherine Walker and Bruce Oldfield, this eclectic collection of gowns, approximately worth £200,000,  were originally bought at a fund raising event hosted in New York in June 1997, a couple of months before Princess Diana’s death.

The late British royal’s to-be-auctioned gowns include the midnight blue Victor Edelstein dress which she wore during her famous dance with the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ actor John Travolta at the White House’s state dinner (1985) hosted by the then U.S. President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy in Washington, D.C.

In addition to the stunning Edelstein dress, the couture collection also features the black velvet evening gown worn by the Princess to the Les Miserables musical opening show.

The late royal lady’s dress auction titled ‘Fit for a Princess’ will take place on March 19, 2013.
