Rich, colourful Oriental flavours swept away the runways of Milan on day five of the ongoing bi-annual Milan Fashion Week (MFW).

International Italian fashion house Armani’s high end ready-to-wear diffusion line Emporio Armani took inspiration from the Far East for its latest fall-winter collection presented at MFW. The range highlighted ensembles in stiff and voluminous silhouettes, which included boldly textured V-back sleeveless dresses, ruffled skirts, extravagantly wide trousers and checked velvet coats in shades of violet, blue, burgundy and bottle green.

Italian fashion label Marni, owned by designer Consuelo Castiglioni, showcased a delightfully balanced mix of austerity and romanticism in its creations. The line included calf length, slightly flared mohair checked skirts, strapless dresses, silk shorts, collarless leather jackets and wide-lapelled coats in charcoal, rich green and black colours.

Internationally renowned fashion maestros Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s runway presentation at MFW had both British as well as Sicilian hints. The Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana’s lush tweed and delicate lace based collection featured a wide array of printed tunic dresses, three-piece suits and midi skirts.
