At last, the most-awaited moment of Paris Fashion Week (PFW) arrived through Balenciaga’s first-ever catwalk presentation under its new creative director Alexander Wang.

The storied French fashion house opened the third day of PFW with its latest autumn/winter 2013 collection designed by the Taiwanese-American fashion designer.

Playing with clean-cut classic shapes with a touch of modernity and minimalism, the 29-year-old’s textured designs included skinny trousers, cinched waist long skirts and chic sleeveless dresses in neutral shades.

The next in line on day three was the popular clothing label Carven, which showcased an elegant feminine collection designed by Guillaume Henry. The line featured double-breasted coats, shift dresses and belted dressing gowns accentuated with rubbery jacquards, metallic faille and animal screen prints.

Internationally renowned Indian designer Manish Arora drew inspiration from Nevada’s week-long annual event Burning Man for his latest clothing range. The heavy on prints line featured images of vast desert landscapes, evening clouds, neon motifs and geometric patterns enriched with his signature Indian sequin embroidery and beading. The ensembles of the collection included mustard coloured pencil skirts, heavily embellished jackets and body-hugging dresses.
