Fashion bigwigs like Viktor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier kept the onlookers glued to their seats with their spectacularly staged catwalk shows on the fifth day of ready-to-wear sartorial extravaganza Paris Fashion Week.

The Amsterdam-based clothing label Viktor & Rolf, owned by the extremely talented designer duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, presented an edgy yet ladylike fall-2013 collection that included crisp white shirts, decorative bow attached bodices, one shouldered cocktail gowns, black leather jackets, drop-waist jumpers, quilted nylon skater skirts as well as ripped and frayed coats.

English fashion designer and businesswoman Vivienne Westwood showcased a very medieval era inspired collection. Restrained with structured tailoring, the ensembles featured flowing silky feminine silhouettes. The veteran’s line included tiny waist suits, voluminous white knee length skirts and puffed Juliette sleeve wool jacquards with images of birds, flowers and strawberries.

French haute couturier and Pret-a-Porter designer Jean Paul Gaultier’s show was a modified and updated version of his famous womenswear looks from the 1980s and 1990s. Based on a muted palette, the ensembles featured studded leather cone-bra shirts, trench coats, sharply-cut shouldered jackets, maxi skirts and sack dresses.
