Known for staging opulently produced theatrical catwalks, the internationally renowned luxury fashion house Chanel this time also did not disappoint the onlookers. On the eighth day of Paris Fashion Week, the label once again featured a grand runway with a huge globe placed right in the middle of the stage showcasing its Autumn/Winter 2013-14 collection.

In the past, the French label had mesmerised the onlookers by creating a fairy-tale like forest or giant wind turbines on its catwalk platforms.

Designed under the aesthetic guidance of the world famous designer Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s latest range titled Globalization featured boldly drawn silhouettes with rounded shoulders and loose backs. The ensembles included zip-front skirts, silver-spotted jackets and black tweed coats.

Milan-based clothing label Valentino’s new ready-to-wear range was inspired by the legendary Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s masterpiece ‘The Girl With The Pearl Earring’. Created by the brand’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the fall 2013-14 line included vase, trapeze, tulip and column shaped outfits in red, pale pink, green and royal blue shades.

British label Alexander McQueen presented a limited ten-piece collection for the next season. Designed by Sarah Burton, the ecclesiastically church inspired line featured outfits that reflected the wardrobes of popes and nuns. The ceremonious ensembles included embroidered bodices, hoop skirts, pearl-studded fishnet tights and gorgeous high-collared dresses.
