The recently held Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg (MBFWJ) featured a variety of latest Autumn/Winter 2013 collections from Africa’s most well-known and up and coming designers.

Popular designer Thula Sindi featured his ‘Lady Macbeth 2013’ line on the second day of the event. Combining goth and opulence with simplicity and romance, the collection included peplums, evening dresses, leather jackets and maxis.

Prolific design talent Suzaan Heyns showcased a cork material based collection titled ‘Doors of Perception’. The line featured beautifully crafted suits, coats and capes.

Famous African design talent Gavin Rajah’s range titled ‘Future Perfect’ presented an array of glamorous feminine outfits in camouflage prints. The line included pantsuits, stylish track pants, evening dresses and wedding gowns.

In an attempt to establish Johannesburg as a world-class fashion and shopping destination, MBFWJ was jointly organized by African Fashion International (AFI) and Mercedes-Benz.

Started around five years ago, the African Fashion International is the premier fashion events and promotions company in Africa, which helps bringing in designers from the entire continent to the forefront.
