DC Fashion Week has grown considerable since its inception in 2004. It attracts top fashion labels around the globe. It is now the 4th largest US fashion week behind New York, Los Angeles and Miami, edging out Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Memphis, Seattle and Las Vegas.
Events returning to fashion week include the Eco Fashion Show, The Fashion Industry Networking Party, The Ukraine Fashion Designers Showcase, Emerging Designers Showcase and the International Couture Collections Show.

A fashion week is a fashion industry event, lasting approximately one week, which allows fashion designers, brands or "houses" to display their latest collections in runway shows and buyers to take a look at the latest trends. Most importantly, it lets the industry know what's "in" and what's "out" for the season.
The most prominent fashion weeks are held in the four fashion capitals of the world: New York City, London, Milan, and Paris. Fashion weeks are now held in most major cities including the nation's capital. DC Fashion Week is one of the fastest growing fashion weeks, making it the the fourth largest fashion week in the United States.
