Next season is all about tailoring, with all shades of colour as shown on the catwalk at Fashion Palette Spring 2013. Held at The Australian Technology Park Thursday 7th March, 1000+ industry guests, fashion identities and consumers were seated by the runway as 16 designers showcased what is coming up for Australian fashion.

The looks were sophisticated, sharp and suave, contrasted with flirty, fun, bold prints and geometric designs. Leona Edmiston opened with her highly anticipated SS13/14 collection featuring a mix of soft pastels, bright colours and feminine prints.

Guests such as Josh Flinn, Jules Sebastian, artist Brittany Cairns, Deni Hines, Elen Levon and model Kelsey Martinovich as well as a number of contestants from Project Runway were front row with the designers including Nicola Finetti, Akira and Bettina Liano, watching with a keen eye as the designs was revealed. Nicola Finetti led the way with their chic tailored pieces.

Think short suits, pant suits, sharp blouses and symmetrical mini dresses next season. Twofolded demonstrated why they were a label to watch with classic structured designs that many remarked on after the show and Bettina Liano showcased refreshingly lighter pieces for summer paired with splashes of edgy leather.

Saucy Rose and Wild Pony presented their fun, bold and bright swimwear; a sure hit when the warmer weather of next summer kicks in. Our ‘Next Generation’ of talented designers did not fail to impress. Couture designers Niki Teljega and Galanni showcased their collection of embellished sultry eveningwear which has fast become a celebrity hit, whilst Chiquita Searle, Sharnee, and Mossée smart, fun and ultra feminine ready to wear that left the industry in a buzz.

Mackenzie Mode and Gemeli Power showcased the bold print colours for the biggest trend next spring summer season whilst Zofara added the ‘wow’ factor with their exotic prints in designs of mini dresses, gowns and skirt/top combinations. Akira showcased 10 of his best archived pieces whilst Arthur Galan AG closed the fifth annual Fashion Palette runway with pieces from his second drop AW13 collection.

The Priscillas Model Management girls were stunning in the 160 looks from the talented 16 Australian designers, styled by teams from Schwarzkopf Professional and Bodyography with nails by Minx Nails and lashes by Glam Manicare. Peeptoe showed off their must-have heels on the runway.

After enjoying pre-show drinks by Two Italian Boys, 28 Black, Illy Issimo, Perrier Water and Appletiser and canapés by Laissez-Faire Catering, guests gathered at the Glam Manicare lash bar and after the Runway were seen looking through their gift bags, full of products from Fashion Palette’s fabulous sponsors including Fashiontrend magazine. Best Buds sent the scene at the Fashion Palette runway with beautiful arrangements throughout The Australian Technology Park and Absolute Creative assisted with the design and production.

Plans are underway for Fashion Palette New York 2013 and Fashion Palette Sydney 2014.
