New Zealand’s premium trade and consumer fashion event Wellington Fashion Week (WFW), which aims to highlight the works of successful and emerging designers of the island country, is set to begin from April 3, 2013.

The event provides opportunities for national and international designers to foster business relationships with buyers, fashion agents and representatives of the local and global consumer markets.

Popular labels like Starfish, Philippa and Alice, highnoontea and Deryn Schmidt will present their latest apparel lines at the five-day-long event.

Auckland-based State of Grace, by designer Sherilyn Catchpole, will feature its latest Autumn/Winter 2013 range titled The Tale of the Regal Rose at WFW.

A contemporary take on 1950s styles, the collection will feature floral print dresses with petal shaped collars, tunics, pants, cardigans, coats, blouses and skirts.

Designer Vaughan Geeson took inspiration from the famous British screenwriter and director Rowan Joffé’s film based on Graham Greene’s novel Brighton Rock for his latest collection to be showcased at the soiree.

The retro line features bright orange jumpers, peplum tops, pencil skirts, black short dresses and rocker jackets.
