The organizers of Fiji Fashion Week 2013 (FJFW 2013) has urged big corporate houses, businesses and fashion enthusiasts to come forward and financially support the local designers of the country, reported Fiji Times.

Financial hurdles act as a major impediment for not only the up and coming designers but also the seasoned ones in the island and therefore the FJFW office is conducting seminars to assist and hone the skills of these new designers who are interested in participating in the event.

Scheduled to take place from October 1-5, 2013, in the privately owned Laucala Island, FJFW 2013 aims to foster and nurture creative opportunities for the seasoned and emerging design talents of the Pacific region.

Other than the spectacular showcases by local designers, the event will also feature apparel collections from international talents hailing from nations like Australia, New Zealand, USA, France, India and Africa.

Forums, workshops, seminars and other educational exchange programmes will also be conducted on the sidelines of the event.
