Nashville, the city primarily known for its thriving music industry, is gradually giving importance to its fast emerging local fashion industry by organizing a glitzy annual event Nashville Fashion Week (NFW).

Scheduled from April 2 to 6, 2013, the event, which is entering into its third year, serves as a global platform for Tennessee fashion designers to showcase their creative talents.

Fashion labels like Abi Ferrin, Blooming Leopold, Corello, Elizabeth Suzann, Jennifer Nina Evans and Lagi Nadeau are going to feature their exquisitely crafted pieces at the fashion soiree.

Designer Kal Reiman, known for her menswear inspired womenswear collections, will present her latest tough meets chic ensembles on the opening day of the event.

New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology graduate Poni Silver, famous for her costume designs in Broadway shows like Mama Mia and Gypsy, would showcase the most recent collection from her Black by Maria Silver line on the second day of NFW.

All proceeds from Nashville Fashion Week will go to Fashion Forward Fund, a yearly award given to boost the career of a local designer.
