Wellington Fashion Week kicks off with a bang

Opening night at WFW kicked off with a bang, literally, as high winds shook the marquee, but did nothing to dampen the people’s spirits inside it.

Viewers flocked to experience the first night of WFW, with a lot of different looks and trends coming through in their very own outfit selection.

Strong colour blocking was a key theme shown, with oranges and reds being worn by those wanting to stand out from the crowd.

Black was the staple colour of the night, but many spiced it up by layering different textures and styles, addling a little something extra to that basic wardrobe classic.

For male attendees, the bow-tie and suits combo was a great look, also staying in trend with what WORLD had to showcase later on in the night.

Leather and sequins where also a big hit, with some fantastic jackets and dresses incorporating these textures being shown off.

The nights most favoured ensemble was a piece later displayed on the catwalk, with a handful of males attending the show all spotted wearing the newly designed floral suit, created by none other than the fabulous WORLD team themselves.
