China Fashion Week highlights demand of bespoke designs

The just concluded Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week in Beijing gave the outsiders not only a glimpse of the country’s burgeoning fashion industry but also highlighted the rising demand of bespoke designs.

Many designers chose to demonstrate their custom-made creations designed specifically for the nation’s rapidly multiplying elite affluent classes at the week-long sartorial extravaganza, which had attracted around five hundred fashion journalists from local and international media.

However, famous Chinese designer Jefen/Xie Feng and Italian fashion talent Gabriele Colangelo stuck to showcasing their latest avant-garde ready-to-wear Autumn/Winter 2013-14 ranges at the event.

Designer Mark Cheung presented a very bold and innovative bridal collection titled Mark Alpha Oerma, which included super short hipster wedding gowns, at the event.

Other than the dazzling array of runway presentations featuring casual, formal, bridal and menswear lines, design contests, fashion forums and the China International Silk and Womenswear Fair were also held on the sidelines of the event.
