A fine collection of some 350 haute couture pieces, designed by the greatest couturiers from the last quarter of the 20th century, will be auctioned at the Paris-based auction house Gros & Delettrez.

Scheduled to take place on October 14, 2013, the ensembles have been sourced from a personal collection owned by the former model-cum-designer and muse of Yves Saint Laurent, Danielle Luquet Saint Germain.

The event will auction a range of extraordinary outfits designed by the likes of Claude Montana, Azzedine Alaia, Paco Rabanne, Thierry Mugler and Christian Lacroix.

Among the pieces which are set to go under the hammer will be a Yves Saint Laurent created black, long, transparent chiffon dress decorated with ostrich feathers, which is expected to fetch around €13,000 to €15,000.

The to-be-auctioned collection will also include a satin gown designed by the same French label. The outfit, estimated to fetch between €10,000 and €12,000, features intricate hand embroidery by the famed French embroidery designer François Lesage.

An avid admirer of high fashion, Geneva’s Danielle Luquet Saint Germain owns a museum like collection of over 1000 couture pieces collected over a period of 30 to 40 years.
