The first two days of Sri Lanka’s ongoing biggest fashion event—HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (HSBC CFW)—have managed to impress the audience with innovative international looks created by a mix of local and foreign design talents.

World famous Russian designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada kicked off the event with her bright cheerful collection. Based on shades of pink, yellow and green, the ensembles were accentuated with heart-shaped motifs and flouncy silhouettes.

Designer Gihan Ediriweera stayed true to the favourite colour of the island ‘indigo’. Infused with light, fresh and flowing feminine designs, the line was inspired from traditional Japanese styles, nature and mystery.

Prolific fashion talent Charini Suriyage, who specializes in hand-woven couture, once again showcased her expertise through her latest range of straight-cut, lustrous stylish apparels in classic black and white tones.

Sri Lankan designer Radhika Perera-Hernandez, who presented her maiden show at HSBC CFW, featured a silk-oriented delicate collection enhanced with intricate beading and rich colours.
