Right from the delightful ranges of ethnic wear and luxe lingerie collections to irresistible lines of sophisticated evening wear, the recently concluded 10th edition of HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (HSBC CFW) seamlessly covered it all.

The three-day-long South Asian fashion extravaganza not only highlighted the designs of seasoned national and international fashion designers but also of the emerging new talents, such as Charini Suriyage, Amanda Weerasinghe and Kasuni Rathnayake, of the island country.

Red carpet fashion specialist Dimuthu Sahabandu, a favourite among Indian cine stars like Deepika Padukone, featured a bold dramatic collection of floor length gowns with shifting silhouettes made of soft fluid fabrics.

Clothing label ARRA, owned by Sharmila Ruberu and Punya Athukorala, presented a contemporary line with a continental touch. Based on basic tones of stark white and pitch black, the innovative collection made the designer duo win the prestigious P&G Gen-Next Award.

Ace designer Darshi Keerthisena wrapped up the high on glamour and fashion frenzy with a mesmerising catwalk presentation. Known for her expertise in age-old batik, the designer’s grand finale included an array of stunningly created beautiful sarees.
