Australian fashion industry stalwarts Camilla and Marc opened the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) in Sydney with their Russian Matryoshka doll inspired spring/summer 2013 collection.

The high-end luxury womenswear label’s brother sister design duo, Camilla Freeman Topper and Marc Freeman, presented a lace, leather and satin made line. Infused with techno scuba prints and gold jacquards, the range included impeccably tailored jackets, drop-crotch pants and sophisticatedly embellished sheer shirts.

Feminine dressing expert Christoper Esber featured an aesthetically trimmed line which included slouchy oversized suits, voluminous tunics, wide long culottes, and skirts and dresses with pockets in a neutral colour palette punched with splashes of silver, salmon and baby blue.

Clothing label Bec & Bridge, showcased a sophisticated and sensual collection with a play of contradictory dark and light elements. Inspired by the Eastern and Japanese cultures, the line included fish scale prints and coy fish motifs on long, fluidly structured silhouettes.

Resortwear line White Sands, ethnic clothing specialist Roopa Pemmaraju, stylish and elegant womenswear design expert Alex Perry and international celebrity stylist Aurelio Costarella also presented their latest lines on day one of MBFWA.
