After some fifty long years since her death, the undying interest of people in their all-time favourite American screen siren Marilyn Monroe does not seem to relinquish. The recently concluded Hollywood Legends auction, which sold some of her clothes and other belongings at unbelievable prices, once again proved this lingering interest and curiosity surrounding the mysterious queen.

Held at California’s famous entertainment memorabilia auctioneer Julien’s Auctions, the two-day-long event sold a few items from the mysterious diva’s personal wardrobe, such as a nightshirt and a cocktail dress which fetched US$ 15,000 and US$ 25,000, respectively.

Other than the personal dresses of the late cinematic queen who still rules the hearts of millions, the event also auctioned the timeless blue knit leotard Superman costume for an incredible sum of US$ 25,600. Worn by the late actor Christopher Reeve in his 'Superman IV: The Quest for Peace' movie, the blue costume set includes a red cape and pants.

In addition, the Claudette Colbert Cleopatra cape went under the hammer for US$ 5,625 and the Wizard of Oz Munchkin Flower Pot hat fetched US$ 15,000 at the event.

Hosted annually, Hollywood Legends auctions exceptional wardrobe pieces, props, photographs and other accessories related to the American cinema.
