A unique exhibition, paying tribute to the works of late South Korean fashion designer Andre Kim, is going to take place at the National Folk Museum of Korea, located in the capital city of Seoul.

Scheduled to begin from April 24, 2013, the event will display more than 126 creations, including 74 pieces sourced from UNICEF Korea and another 52 outfits that came from Andre Kim Design Atelier, designed by the internationally famous designer.

Focusing on the changing trends of the country’s fashion industry during his time, the featured exhibits will cover nearly two-decades (1990 to 2010) of the designer’s aesthetic career.

The highlights of the exhibition includes a lush white, blue and gold blouse featuring motifs of Arabesque peonies, extravagantly dramatic evening gowns and sumptuous wedding attires.

Other than the vast display of apparels, the exhibits will also include fashion show clips and brochures.

Known for infusing both futuristic and traditional elements in his vibrantly coloured designs, Andre Kim was the first Korean designer to stage a catwalk show in Paris (1966).

The National Folk Museum of Korea is a leading cultural institution that provides educational opportunities to know and understand the traditional Korean lifestyle.
