Munich Fabric Start with stable visitor numbers

The 20th fabrics exhibition Munich Fabric Start – pre collections trade fair from 7th to 9th February 2006 had recorded about 11,000 visitors after three days, indicating that the number of visitors had remained stable in comparison with the last time this event was held.

A total of about 11,000 visitors attended M,O,C and the neighbouring Zenith hall containing the blue zone, in order to find out about the new spring/summer 2007 collections. Because of the one-day overlap with CPD in Düsseldorf and heavy snowfalls, the organiser, Munich Fabric Start Veranstaltungen GmbH, claims that this is a very good result.

The proportion of foreign visitors remained generally stable, at about 20 percent, with only marginal shifts between different countries. It should be emphasized that the number of East European visitors has continued to increase.

The 47 exhibitors in the blue zone, on the other hand, recorded more customers from Spain, France, Turkey and other countries.

“No-one wanders purposelessly around the corridors”, claim the exhibitors. They consider this to be evidence of the high quality of the visitors, who specifically go for samples and current ordering meetings, as also seen in M,O,C.

The underlying mood was much more positive during the three days of the trade fair than it was a year ago, even though increases in VAT in German trading and higher raw materials prices and energy costs did not make discussion any easier. Themood of celebration at Munich Fabric Start certainly contributed to this positive mood, as it celebrated its tenth anniversary with popping champagne courts and a live performance for a get together and in other ways.
