Overall, the February 2006 session presented only a slight decrease in visitor numbers, -2.8%, as compared with the March 2005 edition.
Over four days, the 2 salons registered a flow of nearly 46,300 visitors, with relatively steady daily figures:
- attendance peaked the second day of the show, Wednesday 22 February, with 14,000 visitors, - Thursday 23 February registered 12,700 visitors, - Tuesday 21 February, the day traditionally set aside for accredited buyers, saw 10,000 visitors, and the last day, nearly 9,600 visitors.
The fact that the salons maintained performance in this period is particularly worth noting given current market difficulties, with buying companies sending reduced teams to make their selections and purchases.
Also of note was a continuing strong international current: - visitors from the new European Union confirmed their sustained interest in both salons, with an increased number of visitors that represented 77% of the total. Another important development was the growing number of visitors from Great Britain (+15%), Hungary (+10%) and Russia (+30%).
- Overseas export countries accounted for 23% of visitors, with numbers of visitors from China and Hong Kong remaining stable when measured against the comparable year-ago season, and a strong 30% increase in visitors from South Korea.
Première Vision and Expofil thus confirm their strong appeal, amplified by the synergies generated by Première Vision Pluriel. This ensemble of salons makes it possible to develop new business by multiplying the number of useful contacts, a factor of visible satisfaction to the professionals in attendance.
Expofil offers a complete and balanced palette of fibres, natural or man-made and of manufacturing technologies. This offer is unequalled in its sector and can be considered as a complement to the offer of the other Première Vision Pluriel shows: Première Vision's fabrics, Mod'Amont's accessories, Indigo's designs, and leather and fur with Le Cuir à Paris.
