Textile and Garment Development in Efficiency and Technology(TDET) project's head prefers to continue his consulting role with fashion entrepreneurs after expiry of his present contract in July.
Yotsaton Kijkusol, chief of TDET and Director of the Thai Garment Manufacturers Association, said continuing the scheme would reinforce the 18-months course which the 45 clothing brands had undergone.
TDET is one of the nine projects under Government's Bangkok fashion project run by Rajamangala University's technology department.
The first project works on brand creation which helps entrepreneurs to develop their products.
The second project works on brand analysis that prevents companies from losing their cutting edge.
Workshops that help local businesses to learn from US experts are also conducted.
Yosaton informed that some brands with his guidance were able to increase its value three folds, is all the more reason for the scheme to be continued.
TDET requires a larger budget to be able to increase its output effectively.
Each company requires around Bt4 million to develop its brand but in reality has received Bt9 million till now for developing 45 brands.
TDET's eight brands; six are new enterprises displaying their collection at Bangkok Fashion Week, running at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre currently.
